It’s hard to think that it is already April! This coming week I’ll be finishing my the semester and therefore concluding my first year of university!!
Since April is nowhere, I thought it would be a good idea to write what has recently happened both in my blog and life.
Compared to my other posts this one will be short and sweet. So let’s get to it!
*I was supposed to finish this post days ago but the power went out due to an ice storm for 30+ hours and it was hard because it was cold.
Life
Like I said before I’m finishing up the semester and I cannot, for the life of me, believe that my first year is almost done. To be honest, this year went by so fast and it was so busy/hectic that I feel like I really didn’t get to enjoy my first year.
As of now, I have two 10page essays and two exams, each worth 40% of my courses. I always thought that once I finished high school I wouldn’t have to write an essay, for some absurd reason but anywho I am glad I have the opportunity to attend a post-secondary institution when so many can’t.
The snow has slowly been melting and the weather warming up and so jackets and boots have been put away.
* Update: There was a fierce ice storm which led to a power outage for 30+hours and 300k people were affected. Afterwards, there was a snowstorm meaning that the winter boots came back out.
My plans this year is to plan a small garden, it is quite late already but the idea of having flowers and herbs tempts me a lot. There’s nothing like picking your own herbs for your meal.

I have recently come to love Twitter, which I never thought I would say. It is so easy to connect with other bloggers, share posts and find new blogs. What are your thoughts on Twitter?
Plaid & Sugar (ie this blog)
For those who don’t follow me on Instagram, a couple of days I ago I posted on my stories that I reached 10,000 views here on my blog!
10 000!
I can not believe that my blog has been seen so often in the last year and a half. I was so surprised by it, that I gave a tiny shout of joy!
I know that it is not a lot, compared to other bloggers that probably get that amount in a month, I would like to thank you all for following my blog and for commenting on my posts. I wouldn’t be here without you guys!

Also, if you have not noticed I recently updated the branding on my blog. I changed the colours from bright aqua and yellow to merlot purple and mellow yellow. I also change my blog logo. I used Canva for the design and Hungry Jpeg for the flower vector. What do you guys think? Should I become a graphic designer? I kid.
Honestly, the process of making my logo was hard. Figuring out the colour and font combination and finding the vectors wasn’t easy, but it did turn out ok.
Future
As for the future, I hope to be able to write 4 posts this month and to be able to connect with more bloggers. Hopefully, do well in all my finals and start planning for the summer.
I’ll be taking a summer course to get ahead in my degree (ie, not spend an extra semester in uni), since it is such an intense course (half the time, twice the work) I don’t know if I’ll be able to write any posts, therefore, I’ll be planning posts ahead of time.
What are your upcoming plans for this month? Any new and fun events happening recently?
Hasta la proxima,
Loren Camila

Nice logo. I am rusty in the designing department. 😉 oh boy, yeah we could have an ice storm around here too. Glad we have not, that is not fun. This month I will be finishing my last year of highschool!

Power outages are the worst, and even more so when the power is out for an extended period of time when it's either really hot, really cold, or the weather is bad in general so there's no air conditioning or heat, and you can't really go outside to pass time. I'm glad the weather is finally starting to warm up though, I've never liked the cold, haha.
I absolutely love your logo! I really need to make an actual logo for my blog at some point… I actually love making digital artwork and playing with graphic design, but it can be time consuming. I've been more into web design and coding since I took up coding in 2016 when I was on Tumblr.
I actually really like Twitter! I've been using it a lot since I got locked out of my Tumblr account, and I just made a separate account for my blogging/brand-ish type of stuff. I think it's a great place to find other bloggers too!
And congrats on 10,000 views!! That is amazing!

Thanks, Kat for your wonderful comment. I agree with you being without power in extreme weather is not fun, and thankfully spring is finally here! Twitter is great for finding new bloggers and meeting new people.
