How is life? Recently the weather here has gotten warmer and the sun is shining (almost) every day, it seems that April’s showers did, in fact, bring May flowers. Mother’s day is coming up and I still have no idea what to get my mom. But while I dwell on that will get going with today’s post.

For some reason I finished the school year and my skin started breaking out, it is dull and I now can’t sleep meaning that I look pale and haggard.
To combat the dullness, if nothing else, I started using some L’Oreal products that I had forgotten about and noticed that though my acne wasn’t fully gone my skin did look brighter and less ‘dead’.
L’Oreal Pure Clay Maks | Review
A couple of months ago Hometester Club sent me a package of L’Oreal goodies which included the Pure-Clay Cleanser and the Pure-Clay Mask. I used them 2-3x but I started using other skin products and only used them afterward once monthly if that. Since my skin was dull and feeling rough I remembered that I had a daily cleanser and a mask that fought against that and subsequently started using them again.
Both products are from the same collection (Pure Clay) and are focused on exfoliating and refining skin. There are three different divisions of the Pure Clay collection and they all focus on different aspects, the ones I have are to smooth the skin and to refresh it.
They are made with three types of mineral clays and red algae. One is a cleanser that can be used daily and the other is a mask that can be used up to three times a week. I really enjoyed these two products and I love how they both left my skin feeling softer and refreshed, and did help my acne to a point.
*though these were given to me for complimentary purposes it does not affect my thought or opinions of the products.

Pure-Clay Cleanser
This is an easy to use cleanser meant to be used daily and it is meant to purify the skin of dirt, oily and other impurities while at the same time refining and improving the skin’s appearance.
When water is added the red-colour clay transforms into a mousse-like mixture, it is then quite easy to apply. After being massaged onto the face you just wash it off and see the difference.
I noticed that right after I used it my skin was soft, clean, and fresh. I loved how I didn’t have to let it sit, just massage, rinse and done! Which is perfect because even 5 minutes is too much time in the mornings or late nights.
Sometimes I can be picky when it comes to scents but I had no issue with the cleanser’s scent. It smells like clay and it is very simple, not overpowering at all, and it reminded me of a fancy spa.
You can buy it here to buy* since they came out a while ago they are cheaper now.
Pure-Clay Mask
Of the two products, this one was fun to use. There’s nothing like taking a mask and applying it to one’s face, for me the act of applying a mask is relaxing; it feels like I’m going to be shedding my old skin and so it calms me.
The product comes in a nice square glass container, which I loved! It gives it a really fancy look and makes it seem as if it super expensive mask. Like the aforementioned product, it is focused on exfoliating and pore refining.
But unlike the cleanser, the mask product is much more solid and grainy as it has small clay particles for better exfoliation. The scent of this product is stronger but is the exact same smell as the cleanser, which may be a deal breaker if you are scent sensitive.
Because it’s a mask it’s left on the skin for 10-15 minutes, as I remove it I like to massage it into my skin with water to get all the dry skin off. It leaves the skin so, so smooth and feeling like it’s brand new! I use it about once a week and love how it leaves my skin, and my pores are less noticeable.
The only downside to this product is that it comes only with 50ml of clay, and so if used 3x weekly as suggested it may last about a month.

Afterthoughts
Overall, I enjoyed both of these products immensely. They made my face look brighter, not glowing but better than dull and it did somewhat help with my breakouts. I usually try masks out with my mom, as it is a perfect bonding activity, and she really liked the mask but the cleanser not so much.
Depending on where you get it the price is reasonable and if exfoliating and refine isn’t for you there are three other types of the pure-clay masks.
Mother’s day is this Sunday and if you are looking for a gift for your mother and are not sure what to buy, she might enjoy the cleansers* or masks*.

I have been using this product for years. Quite a bit more expensive at the grocery or drug store. I can usually get a very good price at Bed Bath & Beyond even without their 20% off coupons. When I found it at such a steal at Amazon I bought it right away. I like this so much better than similar Olay face washes which have a tendency to leave a feeling of something left on your skin. You only need a very small dab of the L'Oreal wash, lathers up very nicely, thoroughly cleans and does not leave a feeling of a film left on your face. My face feels very soft, does not dry my skin. Safe around your eyes so I use it to remove eye makeup as I wash my face. When I see an opportunity to buy at a very good price I buy as many as I can.
