In a couple of days, it will be December which means: the Christmas season is almost here and there are so many things to do!
Besides the fall season, the holiday season is my favorite. I love the decorations, music, the cookies, and everything about the season. For the last couple of weeks between my study sessions (it’s finals season) I have managed to squeeze in the time to bake and decorate!
Since I did my “Things to do this Fall list” I thought it would be befitting to do a Christmas one.
As there are 25 (24 really) days before Christmas, I thought it’d be befitting to do a list of 25 things to do this holiday season.
They are fun, very seasonal activities that you and your family/friends will enjoy.
25 Things to do This Christmas
1. Do a marathon of Christmas films. Elf or the Santa Clause, anyone? Better yet why not watch a movie every other evening as a family.
- One delicious recipe- Candy Cane Sugar Cookies
- Maybe try Oatmeal Banana Cookies?
- if you love the grinch these pistachio pudding cookies will be perfect for a Grinch party!
6. Go to a carol service or join a caroling group.
7. Send Christmas cards to your loved ones.
8. Build a snowman (if possible).
9. How about making some homemade gifts? Both thoughtful and fun to make.
- how about some hair scrunchies
- or a headband?
- maybe even some cold/hot packs?
10. Make a Christmas playlist.
11. Host a weekly game night.
- an easy recipe to make- Bread Vegetable Stuffing
- or a Colombian Natilla dessert
- check out this post for foods that will make your party sparkle!
13. Feed the winter birds
14. Count down do the big day using an Advent calendar.
15. Make some paper snowflakes and hang them down from the ceiling.
16. As a family, go sledding.
17. Volunteer this holiday season. At an animal shelter, food drive, senior’s home or other.
- a fun craft Little Christmas House Ornament
- or maybe make a Yarn Tassel Christmas Tree Sign
19. Write a grateful list.
20. Drink (or make) eggnog
21. Don’t forget to drink hot chocolate! With lots of whipping cream and caramel?
22. Go for a drive to see the Christmas lights in your neighborhood or city.
23. Host a cookie decorating party.
24. Go to your local church and attend the Christmas pageant/program.
25. Take a yearly family portrait. Maybe in ugly Christmas sweaters?
Important to remeber:
Have FUN!
Those are all the fun, family-friendly activities I could think of for this Christmas season. Obviously, there are some activities that depend on the season/weather and culture, but they can be adjusted for your family.
This year I challenge myself to do all the activities on this list, it could be a great family-bonding activity and I know it will make some great memories. Follow me on Instagram where I’ll be sure to post what I’m checking off my list!
Did I miss any fun activities? What will you be doing this holiday season?

I love all of these ideas!! I have a feeling doing at least a few of these would just make the Christmas season just that much winter-y and lovely! I've always wanted to have an ugly Christmas party, so maybe that's something I should try to plan this year. Or even just a cookie swap (great idea, by the way!) would be a great way to see friends! I'll definitely be borrowing a few of these ideas. Thanks for the Christmas inspiration!!
PS. Also, I wish I could build a snowman. It doesn't snow here where I live 🙁
