December is almost here and what better way to start the Advent season than by doing a Christmas tag!
I love blog tags, it’s such a great way to get to know the blogger and I’ve done a couple in the last couple of years, so I’m so glad that Katie from Life With Kitness asked me to participate in this year’s Christmas Tag Edition, plus I absolutely LOVE Christmas!
The school semester is coming to a close and currently have multiple essays to figure out, plan, and write, so it was great that this tag came at the perfect time! It’s was super fun to write and it helped me feel less stressed out, that plus baking cookies & cakes is alway so much fun!
Also, if you also feel like holiday baking here’s my favorite cookie recipe made with candy canes!

The Original Questions
When do your decorations go up?
Like I said I LOVE Christmas, so my decorations usually go up in early-mid November. The season is so short and decorating makes me happy and I bring down all the decor by Epiphany (Jan 6) or Twelfth Night, which signals the end of the holiday season for me.
If money were no object, how and where would you spend Christmas?
You know those cute villages with stunning Christmas markets in the Alps, Germany, etc? Well, if money was no object that’s where I’d go for the holidays. Staying a warm cutesy, inn or lodge, with a huge and warm fireplace while looking outside, seeing all the stunning decorations and lights.
Afterward taking a walk in the aforementioned markets and trying new foods and experiencing new Christmas traditions, and then going to a Christmas Eve service in a simple chapel only lighted with candles and remembering the birth of Christ.

What Christmas film do you have to watch every festive season?
My family’s all-time favorite Christmas film is Christmas with the Kranks with Tim Allen and Jamie Lee Curtis. It might be at times ridiculous, but it always makes me laugh.
Along with A National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation with Chevy Chase and The Last Holiday with Queen Latifah. Sometime’s I’ll watch Home Alone and Elf but honestly, not my favorite films.
Who do you find the hardest to buy presents for?
My parents. What do you buy someone, when they deserve more than what you can get? And yes, I answered a question with a question 😆
Would you rather buy lots of little presents for a hamper, or buy one big/main present?
Ooh, that’s a hard one! I guess it would depend on what they were, i.e a sewing machine (big present) vs fabric and patterns (little presents). But generally, I’d prefer little presents as I get more XD
What did you leave out for Santa when you were a child?
Nothing. My parents did raise me to believe in Santa Clause as a child and instead focused on the reason for the season: The Birth of Christ.

Where did you spend last Christmas?
At home surrounded by friends and loved ones, with tables full of food and sweets, and a house filled with laughter. We usually have our Christmas party on the 24th. People come over on the 24th at 7pm and stay till 2am drinking eggnog and eating classic Colombian holiday foods.
Which Christmas song makes you cringe?
Santa Baby and Grandma Was Run Over by a Reindeer are two songs I have a hard time listening to. Makes me cringe every single time and wonder why would someone come up with a song like this?
If you could be a character in a holiday movie, who would you be and why?
Mmmm, I don’t know. Probably Amber from A Christmas Prince, mainly because as I mentioned above spending the holiday season in a small European country with lots of Christmas markets would be amazing. Plus, I’d get to meet (and fall in love) with a prince!
Have you ever had a White Christmas?
Except for last year as it did not snow until New Year’s Day which made Christmas day feel less magical and somewhat strange. Some years to go to a Christmas supper we’d have to shovel the driveway just to get out!

My Questions
Is your tree real or fake?
Mine is fake. I find that fake Christmas trees are in a way much more environmentally friendly (and cheaper) since they don’t have to be thrown out at the end of the season and can last up to a decade. A
Although I’d love to buy a real pine tree it would be so memorable and can imagine how good it would smell. Maybe next year?
Choose a holiday drink: Spiced Apple Cider or Eggnog?
This is a hard question! I absolutely love both, but I’d say eggnog as it is only available in November December and is the perfect drink to have with Christmas cookies!

I had such fun reading this. I feel you on the difficulty of shopping for one's parents. You nailed the reason why it is so hard too!
Also love your thoughts on big vs. small presents and . . . Santa Baby makes me cringe as well.
Thanks for sharing!

This is such a fun tag. We had a real tree growing up and I LOVED the scent of pine that it brought into the house, but I didn't love cleaning up all the pine needles throughout the season lol

My mom and I just watched Christmas with the Cranks the other day, always makes me laugh.

I can only imagine the scent of a real pine tree, but had totally forgotten that the pine needles fall off! It was great having you by, Britt.

Such a fun tag! 🙂 I had no idea fake trees were supposed to last 10 years – ours is 12 years old and still going strong! 🙂 It's nice you've had white Christmas so often, it never snows here even in winter so we don't get snow in the middle of summer either for Christmas day!
Happy new year! Hope that your 2021 has started well and you had a lovely Christmas 🙂
