Autumn’s arrival means that not only are the colours changing outside but that some changes are also happening indoors. And what better way to decorate for fall than by making some home decor crafts!
For autumn decor, you can never go wrong with natural items (like flowers, leaves, pinecones) and today I’ll be sharing crafts that can be done in under an hour, that are cute, easy, and best of all autumnal.

8 Fall Home Decor Crafts to Try
Like my last craft round-up post (back in May/2020!), these DIYs are fairly different for they all involve different mediums (crafting, sewing, or knitting) but they all have one thing in common: easy autumn decor tutorials.
From garlands to wreaths to other decor items, this post has something for everyone! If you’d like to see more craft ideas or DIY projects then check out my Pinterest for more inspiration.
Okay, let’s get crafting!
Fall Wreath: DIY Floral Hanging Basket
Sarah from That Lemonade Life shared this post on how to make this cute floral hanging basket which is a fun and ingenious take on the classic fall wreath.
I love how simple this DIY is and its versatility, it can be hanged on the door, placed on a table as a centerpiece, or wherever you’d like! Plus the floral and basket options are endless, so maybe it could be changed for any occasion/season.
Check out the DIY post here!

Pumpkin Patch Cup Cozy (Crochet)
This one is for all the crocheters and coffee lovers out there! This pumpkin patch cup cozy by Okie Girl Bling N Things can be made in under an hour (less if you’re an advanced crocheter) and is the perfect project for using that leftover yarn you have lying around.
As a newbie when it comes to crochet this pattern is cute, easy, and quick and you should totally check it out here!

Neutral Paper Pumpkin Garland
Looking for a simple aesthetically pleasing garland? Then Lynn from Lynn Mumbing Mejia has you covered.
In this post, she shares how to make this super easy neutral paper pumpkin garland using only printables and clothespins! A fun and cute make!

Jack-O-Lantern Craft
Jupiter from Life With Jupiter & Nan shared this cute Jack-O-Lantern craft that is fun and easy to make. I’ve made a similar activity with my Brownies at Girl Guides and they loved it!
For this craft, all you’ll need is tissue paper, glue, and an old jar. Making this not only a festive autumnal decor piece but also earth-friendly and sustainable! Read the how-to here.

Easy Acorn and Pinecones Wreath
This wreath is a) very charming and b) effortless to make. Sarah at Craft Invaders shared this easy wreath tutorial that requires items found in nature, pinecones, acorns conkers among others.
One thing I loved about this wreath is how original it was, I had never seen a wreath like this and will have to make my own to place on my door. Want to make your own? Check out the wreath tutorial here.

Make A Pumpkin (knitting and sewing options)
One of the main motifs of both the fall season and fall decorating is pumpkins. If you’re a knitter then this easy pumpkin DIY by Handy Little Me is for you. It is an easy, simple craft as it involves knitting a rectangle, sewing the edges, and stuffing it!

But what if you’re not a knitter? This simple tutorial by Better Life Blog will serve you well. Like the knitting tutorial above, this sewing pumpkin DIY involves rectangles, stuffing, and some sticks. That’s it! Pretty simple right?

Falling Leaves Garland DIY
Obviously, I couldn’t finish this post without including one of my favorite DIY posts from Plaid and Sugar. This garland was made for under $4, as it only requires a branch and a package of dollar store leaves!
Like the rest of the DIYs in this post, these falling leaves garland takes about 30 minutes to make and looks super cute on any wall or window. Check out the autumnal DIY here!

final thoughts
Home decor can often be costly so having the option to craft or DIY your fall home decor is a great option, plus it’s always so nice to look at something and think “wow, I made that”.
I hope that you enjoyed reading this round-up post of fall home decor crafts/DIYs and hope that I inspired you to craft and decorate your home. Like always if you have any questions or comments please let me know.
Have you done any fall or seasonal crafts this year? On that note do you like DIYs or Crafts?

These are great ideas & I love making Fall & Halloween crafts with my daughter. We made little ghosts from coffee filters (they were another craft on Lynn’s blog). Her pumpkin garland is so cute & so is the leaf garland!
These all look great! I especially love the Acorn and Pinecones Wreath and the Fabric Pumpkins.
Adorable ideas, can’t wait to try!
The falling leaves garland seems really easy to do, will definitely try!
These are some great suggestions and look like a lot of fun to craft. I love to craft or be creative. Especially if it is cold or raining outside. Thank you for sharing.

So many lovely crafts! I love how simple the falling leaves garland DIY is, and if I could knit I’d love to make those pumpkins. Thanks for sharing xx
Your pumpkin crochet coffee holder idea is both brilliant and crazy adorable. I think everyone needs one of these!
These crafts are all so cute! Because of some issues at home, I, unfortunately, haven’t been able to be very crafty this fall, but I am loving that falling leaf garland! It is too cute!
Love to see so many different DIY’s! I really love the fall garlands and the fabric pumpkins, but the acorn and pinecones wreath topped all of them in my opinion! Thanks for sharing x
