There’s less than a fortnight before I start school again and summer vacation is over! I do have to say that this summer though uneventful went by really fast.
This past week I received a package in the mail from Topbox Circle. For those who do not know Topbox Circle (I’ll call it TBC from now on) is a free review program where you fill out some reviews and get invited into missions which then require to do reviews on the products site.
It is a free program geared towards letting people try products and give their honest reviews. Are you on TBC?
The Garnier®Ombrelle mission was the first one I’ve gotten since I signed up in June. I received some sunscreen samples and I will now start on my review.
*Though I received this product for free from Topbox Circle, all opinions and reviews are my own*
I was so excited when I received an email saying that the products were on their way! I also was very nervous that the products wouldn’t live up to my expectations. You probably read a shorter version of my review on Instagram, but if you wanted more details and pictures read below.
If the background in the picture looks familiar its because I used the shirt from my 1980s patterns outfit.
All Ombrelle products are geared towards sun protection. They have various products ranging from SPF 30 to 60 and from kids to sport to face. The collection is big and though I had seen some before in-store, I had never actually tried them out.
- Ultra-Light Advanced Tinted Mineral SPF 60
- Complete Lotion SPF 60
I was surprised by the box in came in as it was big for two 50ml products. It did feel like TBC could’ve used some smaller packaging as I felt like it was very wasteful. The shipping was fun since the products arrived 2 days after I got an email that they were being shipped to me.
Garnier Ombrelle Product Review
Ultra Light Advanced Tinted Mineral SPF 60
I was the most excited about the Tinted Mineral which, as mentioned, is a sunscreen that is tightened. It said it could be used under makeup or as a foundation of sorts, but unfortunately, it didn’t work for me.
As I was pouring it into my fingers I found it very watery, and very messy. After I blended it unto my face I noticed that it left a white-ish sheen and that I looked like I was sick or dressing up like a vampire!
For a person of darker coloring it was very noticeable but for someone with paler skin, it could work. The pictures don’t show well how it actually looks.
I did like that it was lightweight and didn’t feel heavy once I put it on my face/body. Which is my biggest complaint with other sunscreens. It did offer protection from the sun and wasn’t greasy at all.
This product I would recommend if it came in darker tones and wasn’t so ghostly looking. Overall I was happy with the idea that Ombrelle had but disappointed in the shade, and outcome. 3/5stars.

Complete Lotion SPF 60
Like I mentioned before I am very picky when it comes to lotions, sunscreens and the like because the majority are oily and feel heavy on my skin. But this one was the total opposite! It felt very light and was barely noticeable. I liked how it moisturized my skin while protecting it from the sun.
I liked this product a lot, I did not have any problem with this product and would recommend to anyone who is picky about sunscreen lotions. I give it 4.5/5 stars.
Thoughts
Both products are great though I think that the retail price is a bit much for 50ml for the tinted ones. Which could pose a problem for skin-conscious people with a small budget Like aforementioned the box, in which the products came in is a bit wasteful, but I’m thinking of turning it into a piggy bank of sorts. What do you think?
Now that my review is over, would you try the Garnier® Ombrelle products? Have you tried them already? If so, what did you think?
I hope that you enjoyed this review and leave any thoughts, or comments down below.
